IF YOU ARE HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH THE SITE, PLEASE CHECK THE FOLLOWING BEFORE REPORTING THE PROBLEM TO US:
- PLEASE NOTE: The main cause for not being able to see the menu system is firewall / security settings on the user's system blocking javascript. If you are at work, be aware that many companies have high security firewalls and many do not allow javascript to run. In this case, use a machine outside of the company or navigate using the [ site map ] hard link near the bottom of the site page. Or, if you are using your own machine from home, make sure your own security setup is correct or use the site map.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR BROWSER UP TO DATE!
Browsers are all free and so are their updates. If you are using the web, there is no excuse for not keeping your browser current. Please do not assume a website isn't working correctly if you are using an old browser version. Upgrade your browser first and then check the site. If you still have a problem then, please, report it to the webteam. We want to make sure the sites are working correctly for current standards and browsers.
- Internet Explorer Browser 5.x on Mac is no longer supported. This browser has some serious flaws and has been discontinued. We highly recommend using any of the very good modern browsers like Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Opera on Mac as well as on Windows. Although it is the most common browser in use, IE has many shortcomings and we recommend Windows users switch to one of the aforementioned browsers to maximize you web experience.
- Clear your browser's disk cache (temp files) and cookies in the preferences. Many times you are looking at an old cached version of the page or elements of it. Also, we recommend setting the refresh to "each time" so that you are always looking at the latest version of a page. You will sacrifice a little loading speed, but it is worth the trade-off.
- Make sure your browser can read Javascript and it has not been disabled in the preferences.
- Under no circumstances should you be using Netscape 6.0. It was a flawed release and bugs in it will cause many unpreventable errors. You must upgrade to 6.2 or later to fix these problems. A good alternative to an old Netscape browser is Mozilla Firefox.
- If your Windows operating system is Windows 3.1, 95 and, in some cases ME, you may experience problems. Please update your OS, you are more than a decade overdue.
- AOL can have difficulty with many things on the web due to their intermediary interface. Our sites conform to W3C standards for the web and the issues that arise in AOL are on their end. We recommend not using AOL if at all possible.
